FC Minneapolis held to a 2-2 draw by the Brooklyn Knights!

Jairo Castellanos gave the City Lions a first-half lead with his long-range strike.

Solomon Ikechi opened up the second half scoring beautifully to give his side a comfortable 2-0 lead but they were unable to hold off the Knights who found two nets bringing the game level by full time.

With Samuel Otieno still out of action, the City Lions introduced new signings Brian Osinde and Delki Yormie as Center Backs. Aron Kerkula started as a left full-back and the young Liberia played well to keep attacking adversaries of his turf.

No other major changes were made to the regular squad except for Mohamed Jameel who started in goal. The Iraqi Goal Keeper did well making brilliant saves and commanding his defense line accordingly.

“We should clearly have won this game but gave it away. We have to be more mentally strong to handle big games from the start to the final whistle” Said Ian Sendi.

The Minneapolis player-manager also commended his players for coming out strong against a well-organized opponent and urged them to aim higher next season.

FC Minneapolis will be hosting Baraya FC on June 10th before traveling to Kansas to play NPSL’S FC Wichita on June 14th.
