FC Minneapolis scores 9-2 to become league leaders.

After a painful start to the season, losing all pre-season friendlies and the season opener with Minnesota Cranes, today FC Minneapolis came out stronger than predicted scoring 9 goals against their hosts Brothers FC, getting their first win and consequently becoming the league leaders.

FC Minneapolis goals were scored by Darius Sango (4), Ian Sendi (2), Andy Martinez (1), Jonathan Mulenda (1) and Adewale Victor (1).

Hermes Dias and Andrew Khair both scored for Brothers FC to deny the Minneapolis keeper, Edmund Nimely the clean sheet he had worked so much for.

Midnimo FC will have to win their next game with Brothers FC scheduled for the 25th of July if they are to finish the first round as the league leaders.

Minnesota Cranes go on break with a game in hand against Brothers FC that has been scheduled to be played some time in August.

“There’s no doubt FC Minneapolis is up for a great future. The players are hungry for more and that is evident in how they train and show up for games like these” Club management commented.

Andy Martinez did well as the team’s creative middle fielder and Derek Hutson played well to balance the middle field.

Benjamin Lee played as the left winger and the young Australian was impressive. His attacking abilities and speed on the ball added greatly to the squad.

“We surely can do better than this.” Ian Sendi said. “We have big games ahead and we need to keep our hearts in this” He added.

The Ugandan played well today. His combination upfront with Darius Sango and Alain Njimpwo worked well for the team.

Sendi who scored twice and made 3 assists in today’s game has praised the entire team for their commitment and attitude.

“We all played as a team. We won together and I want to thank all my teammates for believing in the team and putting in their 100%.” Sendi said after the game.

FC Minneapolis will spend their lunch tomorrow at Dan Donatucci’s residence in Uptown Minneapolis by Calhoun beach, and on Monday evening, will hold a community event with Salvation Army at Anderson Park in South Minneapolis starting at 5:00pm.
