Ian Sendi speaks of what it means to be a football club during FC Minneapolis’s recent fan’s event!

What makes a football club? Is it the players, coaches, or partners? That may be true but our composition goes deeper than that. Just like a body with many parts so is a team.

The leg can’t say to the head that it is less valuable just because it cannot walk by itself. Neither can the eye say to the toe that it is insignificant just because it is small enough to be seen and appreciated. They all work together. They are each other’s support and because of that unity a human body can accomplish anything it sets its will to do.

Imagine how much we can accomplish as a football club if every part of our body was in one accord with the other.
We have to understand that in a game, we have only 11 players, 7 subs and 5 members of the technical team. All these play an equally important part in winning a game. A striker who puts in the winner is not greater than that player still on the bench waiting for his time to take the field. Every player in their role, capacity and even skill level is just as important as the other to the success of the team.

As much as every club needs the 11 of us who take the field every game, there are other players in different capacities that every team must have and without them there cannot be success.

The young men and women who show up to club events and every game. The season ticket holders, the partners and sponsors who stand with the club at different levels, the fans who sing our names and that boy or girl who likes and shares everything we post on social media just to give us more visibility online, all of them combined play a role so important on our team and we would like to thank them.
You may never put on our uniform or even ever chase the ball with us on the field but up there in the stands where you play your position as a supporter or morale booster we want to appreciate you. Out there in the community where you play your role as our advocate we want to thank you.

It is impossible for a football club at this level to continue existing without all members of its body working together.
So allow me just a little latitude to once again thank my fellow players, coaches, partners, and all the fans for choosing to play on our team.

We can accomplish anything if we continue playing together in our different position on and off the field.

How I wish others could read this information because it’s vital to so many players who think that their the heart of the team thinking that with out “” THEM” the team goes no where. Thank you Mr Sendi
