FC Minneapolis is a Minnesota-based Premier Club of the United Premier Soccer League devoted to providing an outstanding on-field product as well as a memorable game-day experience.
Striving to maintain high-level football/soccer and entertainment for residents of Osseo, and surrounding communities, FC Minneapolis’ long-term vision is to be a team of accountable, transparent, decent, just, and professional men and women known for going beyond the game.

We do this by ensuring our players have access to quality playing platforms where they can showcase their talents to both local and international football markets.
Founded in June of 2013, FC Minneapolis participated in the Minnesota Recreation Soccer League during the summer of 2014, participated in the now-defunct American Premier League as one of the founding members in 2015 and 16, becoming the first league Champion in 2015, and operated as an Independent club playing exhibition matches locally and across the Midwest in 2017.
In the spring of 2018, FC Minneapolis joined the United Premier Soccer League, a 4th division league with over 300 teams nationwide, and is currently the longest-standing member of the UPSL in Minnesota.
FC Minneapolis proudly plays its home games at Osseo Stadium located in Osseo, Minnesota.
About The Position
The Academy Assistant Coach will support the FC Minneapolis Nexts Team during the season and will report to the Academy Head Coach and General Manager. FC Minneapolis Nexts’ Pre-Season is March-April with the regular season running from May through July. The on-field time commitment is 2 times per week during the Pre-Season and up to four times per week during the summer season.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the Academy coaching staff and players
- Attend and support all scheduled training and games for the Academy
- Assist in team roster building
- Training and game preparation based on the club game model and principles
- Participate in recruiting & player identification events.
- Attend FC Minneapolis staff meetings (mostly virtual)
Preferred Qualifications
- USSF B License or UEFA equivalent (preferred)
- USSF C License or equivalent
- USSF D License or equivalent (required)
- Experience coaching at a competitive level.
- Strong understanding of modern playing techniques and tactics.
- Ability to work effectively with young athletes and communicate complex ideas simply.
- Commitment to ongoing personal development and staying well-informed of coaching best practices.
