Position Title:
Head Coach – FC Minneapolis Nexts Teams
(UPSL First Division, UPSL Second Division, UPSL U17 Academy)
About the Position
FC Minneapolis is seeking dedicated and passionate Head Coaches for our Nexts program, encompassing the UPSL First Division, UPSL Second Division, and UPSL U17 Academy teams.
As a Nexts Head Coach, you will oversee one of the teams throughout the season and collaborate closely with the Premier Team Head Coach to develop and execute the club’s vision.
Season Timeline:
- Pre-Season: March to April (2 on-field sessions per week)
- Regular Season: May to July (up to 3 on-field sessions per week)
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Nexts Head Coach, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing coaching staff and players for your designated Nexts team.
- Collaborating with the Premier Head Coach to design and implement scheduled training sessions and game plans.
- Building team rosters in partnership with fellow coaches.
- Developing training and game strategies aligned with FC Minneapolis’ game model and principles.
- Participating in recruiting and player identification events.
- Attending FC Minneapolis staff meetings (primarily conducted virtually).
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with:
- Licenses:
- USSF B License or UEFA equivalent (preferred)
- USSF C License or equivalent
- USSF D License or equivalent (required)
- Experience coaching at a competitive level.
- A strong grasp of modern playing techniques and tactical knowledge.
- Proven ability to work effectively with young athletes, simplifying complex ideas to foster growth.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on coaching best practices.
