After three years of injury battles, Takan focuses on reinventing himself in American Soccer

Aaron Takan is a young, vibrant, and exhilarating winger currently playing for FC Minneapolis in the United Premier soccer league.

Takan is a talented and exceptional forward with a prior U18 Uganda National Team call-up in 2016 during the Afcon U18 qualifying games and with experience playing in the Uganda annual Copa Coca-Cola High schools Competitions.

The forward joined FC Minneapolis through its development programs in 2016 but due to injuries, the young star’s career hung in the balance and wasn’t able to break into first-team football until 2019 and even though it was going to take the lad time to get comfortable with life in the United Premier Soccer League, there were signs that the young Ugandan could easily adapt to whatever challenges life may throw at him at that level.

Speaking to our media, Takan acknowledged the role of senior Ugandans like Sendi Ian, Nathaniel Atamba, and Micheal Ssekitoleko in helping him get settled and comfortable at this level.

“I had a lot of help and guidance when I got onto the team. They all wanted to see me succeed and that was a big factor in my performance.”

Takan was given the number 11 and from all indicators, the lad is on the right path to creating a new trend and a level of expectations for the shirt.
