FC Minneapolis sends Emmanuel Togar to Portugal

Emmanuel Togar, a 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been playing with FC Minneapolis since the fall of 2016. Before joining the City Lions, the Liberian played 2 years of high school with Brooklyn Center High School scoring 40 goals and having 20 assists becoming the All-Time Leading Scorer in the school’s history within the period of 2015 and 16.

On September 7th, 2015, he was awarded as the State’s Player of the Week for his outstanding performance by the Max Preps & National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In the same year, he was invited to the Class “A”  All-State 2nd Team as an attacker by the Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association. In both 2015 and 16, he was the School’s Most Valuable Player and he made both All-Conference Teams in 2015 and 16.

When he joined FC Minneapolis in the fall, he was appointed as one of the team captains by Varney Cole the club’s head coach then and he has kept an exemplary lifestyle on and off the field to this day.

In the Spring of 2018, FC Minneapolis partnered with Tiago Silva, a licensed FIFA agent to help the club open up new networks with European clubs and organizations. Through this arrangement, the club can send over players who are interested and ready to kick-start their playing career in Europe.

Togar received his invitation and all his paperwork is finalized and he will be flying to Portugal from Minneapolis on Monday, October 1st, 2018 where he will train and play at different levels until the transfer period of January 2019 when his future will be determined.

Speaking to our media, Emmanuel said that he is very excited about the trip and looking forward to what the future holds!
