FC Minneapolis Welcomes Francisco Punte to the UPSL First Division Team

FC Minneapolis is pleased to announce the addition of Francisco Punte to our UPSL First Division team for the 2026 season.

Francisco joins the club as a talented left-footed goalkeeper with strong experience, a solid professional foundation, and an exciting future ahead of him. Standing at 6’3”, the Argentinian shot-stopper currently plays for Western Iowa Tech Community College and brings with him a background shaped by both high-level training and competitive success.

Before coming to the United States, Francisco developed through the youth system of Club Atlético Central Norte in Argentina. During his time there, he spent three years with the reserve team and more than two years training with the first team, gaining valuable experience in a demanding football environment. In 2024, he was also part of the squad that earned promotion from Argentina’s Third Division to the Second Division, an achievement that reflects the competitive culture and winning mentality he has been exposed to.

Francisco is known as a consistent shot-stopper who brings confidence and presence to the back line. His ability to command the box, organize defensively, and claim crosses with authority makes him an important addition to our squad as we prepare for a highly competitive UPSL First Division campaign.

Beyond his qualities on the field, Francisco arrives with a strong mentality and clear ambition. His objective for the season is simple and powerful: to compete at a high level and help the team win every possible competition. That mindset aligns strongly with the vision and standards we are continuing to build at FC Minneapolis.

As a club, we are excited to welcome Francisco into the FC Minneapolis family. We believe his experience, character, and goalkeeping qualities will add great value to the team and strengthen us as we work toward our goals this season.

Please join us in welcoming Francisco Punte to FC Minneapolis.
