Report: Vlora FC 3-0 FC Minneapolis

We dropped another 3 points after an away defeat at Bob Pates Stadium on our second matchday of the spring season today.

Vlora scored halfway in the first half from a high corner that was poorly marked by our defensive unit to give a 1-0 lead to the hosts.

Shortly after that, Ariel Gbalenchey missed the opportunity to bring the game back to balance when he intercepted the opponent’s back pass but was unable to go past the Vlora keeper with his left foot strike.

The game looked very much in balance with both teams almost sharing possession, chances created, goal attempts among others until the 89th minute when Vlora scored a second from a near 18 thrown in.

FC Minneapolis continued pressing up but lost the ball giving Vlora an opportunity to counterattack from the left flank into the 18-yard box sliding the ball unconvincingly past Gafar Ayodel before Thomas Carey would score an own goal in a failed attempt to clear the ball giving the hosts a 3-0 lead by the 90th minute.

The ref finished the game on the 90th mark without any additional minutes.

For today, only 2 subs tasted the turf when Methembe Mzizi was put off for Quaqua blessing and Lenin Carillo for Ryan Bryan while the scoresheet was still showing 1-0 in the 80th minute.
