FC Minneapolis confirms Ssekitoleko Micheal as a returning player ahead of the 2024 season.

The defensive midfielder first joined FC Minneapolis earlier in the Spring of 2019 but he was unable to return to the club due to the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020. However, he was able to come back to Minneapolis in the fall of 2022, and on Wednesday, September 14th of that year, the club confirmed him as the latest addition to their roster for that season’s Minnesota Fall Cup which kicked off on Sunday, September 18th.

He was able to return to action in the United Premier Soccer League in the spring of 2023 when he made his second league season appearance on Wednesday, May 3rd in the club’s opening match with Black Hawks in Maple Grove.

Ssekitoleko who originates from Uganda enjoyed a comfortable start in the City Lions squad throughout the 2023 spring season, and it’s likely the defensive mid will remain determined to keep his position in the club’s first team come 2024.

Speaking to David Adeola, the Club’s Head Coach, he said, “Micheal is a very disciplined and professional player who focuses on his role from start to finish. His hardwork and sportsmanship bring a vital contribution to the whole squad that we believe will help us in the campaigns ahead.

FC Minneapolis will be traveling to Brooklyn Park Next Wednesday, February 28th for their first official game of the pre-season against Granite City FC, and Micheal is expected to be on the matchday roster pending confirmation from the technical staff.
