FC Minneapolis Welcomes Marco Velez to the UPSL First Division Squad

FC Minneapolis is pleased to announce the addition of Marco Velez to the club’s UPSL First Division team for the 2026 season.

Marco joins FC Minneapolis with a strong playing background and valuable experience from competitive environments at both the club and collegiate levels. He previously played for Manitou FC’s top team under Edi Buro and is currently part of the Viterbo University Men’s Soccer program under Head Coach Roberto Yepez, where the team competes in the Chicagoland Conference of the NAIA.

A dynamic and versatile player, Marco is capable of operating across the midfield and can also contribute on the wings as an attacker or even in a fullback role when needed. Known for his quickness, technical quality, and creativity, he describes himself as a pure number 10 who brings aggression, rhythm, and balance to the game. His agility and ability to find space in tight areas make him a dangerous presence in possession and an exciting addition to the FC Minneapolis squad.

Born on January 19, 2007, Marco is right-footed and arrives with a strong desire to continue developing his game at a high level. His goals for the season are centered on growth, gaining meaningful match experience, learning from his teammates, and helping the team perform consistently each day.

Marco shared that he hopes to bring creativity, rhythm, and balance to the team’s midfield this season as FC Minneapolis continues building a competitive and ambitious First Division side.
