Sendi Scores a double as FC Minneapolis comes from behind to draw 5:5 with Rock City FC.

The City Lions struggled to keep their defenses secure at the St Benedict Athletic Complex yesterday in their away friendly campaign with Rock City FC conceding 2:0 in the first 15 minutes of the match. Lorestho Banks, the 21 year older Liberian Center Forward managed to reduce the margin to 2:1 when he scored a tap-in from Emmanuel Togar’s deflected effort but the hosts soon expanded their lead to 3:1 when they scored a direct free from Jewel Myles Arthur’s miss timed tackle.

Emmanuel Togar, playing from the left forward managed to curve in a beautiful ball behind the Rocks’ keeper making it 3:2 before they scored a fourth from Eric Swen’s handball in the box that had resulted into a kick from the mark.  Micheal Ssekitoleko managed to score in the last 15 minutes of the first half bringing it to 4:3 by half time in favor of Rock City FC.

In the second half, Ian Sendi managed to bring the game level when he scored a stunner a few yards from the 18. The keeper managed to put a hand to it but the weight of the shot overwhelmed him hence landing in the back of the net.

Defensively, FC Minneapolis had not learned from its past mistakes committed earlier in the game. They were once more caught off their guard in a counter attacking situation conceding a 5th goal late in the second half, but again, Ian Sendi, the Ugandan attacking mid scored from a similar spot when Nathaniel Atamba laid a low heightened pass from the right flank and Sendi cut it non-stop with his right foot into the back of the net helping his side to walk off with a 5:5 draw.

FC Minneapolis will be playing a few extra matches this post season until October. For a more detailed schedule refer to the club website.
