The club saw over 27 players from around Minnesota and Wisconsin sign up for, and try out for its men’s UPSL team.
This is a usual number as the club always registers up to 30 players who come out and showcase their talents before its coaches with the hope of finding some potential talent ready for the next challenge in the United Premier Soccer League.
In the Spring of 2021, FC Minneapolis managed to identify some key players like Malon Jorge, Luis Rodriguez, and Zackary Geerdes among others that were very pivotal in its summer success, and David Oluwalaanu, the Minneapolis Head Coach came into this year’s trials with same high hopes.
Players were evaluated based on their technical competency, tactical awareness, and physical ability.
The trials which weld help at the Park Center Dome in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota ended at 11:00 pm, and players were told to expect further communication from the club in the event that the club should invite them back.
Despite the many requests for another trial from players who missed the first one, there has not been any indication of a second trial by the City Lions, but we will know more after the coaches have finished their analysis of current squad needs.
