FC Minneapolis has announced a major strategic move as they appoint David Adeola Oluwalaanu to the crucial role of Director of Club Growth and Development. With a history rich in national and professional soccer experience, David steps into this role after a highly successful tenure as the club’s head coach.
David served as the head coach from 2019 to the beginning of 2025, leading the team through five seasons of remarkable achievements, but now his journey with the club takes an exciting new direction.
Hailing from a prestigious background, David is a former Nigerian U17 National Team player who also played for the Shakhtar Donetsk U21 team. His brief negotiation stint with Greek giants Panathinaikos further highlighted his prowess in the soccer world. David, who first joined FC Minneapolis in 2018 is expected to bring a wealth of professional experience to his new role.
Under his leadership, FC Minneapolis reached unprecedented heights, transforming into a powerhouse in the United Premier Soccer League. The club reached the Division Semis and made history as the first team in Minnesota to reach the US National Cup Regional Finals and the Champions of Regions Semis during the 2021 Summer season.
