Every year, the Liberian community of Minnesota celebrates their home country’s independence by organizing a series of sporting events and an All-Star Football/Soccer match between Mighty Barrolle and Invincible Eleven at the Pride Stadium in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
In order for players to feature on this great day, they have to go through an intense 4 days tryout at Zane Sports Complex where qualified coaches evaluate them in different areas and if they meet the criteria, they get to be selected to play for either Barrolle or IE All-Star teams.
Lorestho Banks, a striker at FC Minneapolis is one of the many talented players who tried out this week and we are pleased to know that the 20-year-old old Liberian has made the team and that he will be representing us and his community this Saturday, July the 28th at 6:00 pm at the Pride Stadium.
The purpose of these celebrations is to raise funds for charitable causes benefitting people of the last mile in the various Liberian communities and we would like to appeal to everyone to come out in big numbers at Pride Stadium this Saturday at 6:00 pm and support this very noble cause.
