We want to be mindful, prepared and proactive in helping to mitigate the risks and slowing the infection rate of Covid-19 (the Corona Virus).
We get to choose and monitor our own responses. We encourage everyone to daily choose love to be the motivation and fuel for life, rather than fear as we pursue being mindful, prepared and proactive.
Here are a few guidelines:
1) Lovingly stay home when you are sick. Keep kids home if they are sick. If you are not sick, lovingly fill in for people who are.
2) If you become ill, please contact the team. Let’s be a community that finds ways to be supportive and helpful to each other. Let’s be creative in spreading love and support for each other in ways that do not spread a virus.
3) Please practice intentional hygiene. A. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. B. Try to avoid touching your face. C. Cover your cough and sneezes.
Here is our current plan:
1) We will be increasing our cleaning and disinfecting during events, training sessions, and games. Cleaning supplies will be readily available and instructions on how you can participate in helping to keep our facilities clean and hospitable will be discussed.
2) Handshakes before and after games. For the time being we will hands free. Bump elbows instead of shaking hands.
3) We will continue to have regular pre-season practices. Plan on attending all scheduled events, including pre-season games, and our upcoming open soccer tryout on March 21st at the Hopkins Pavilion.
If you are at a higher risk to get ill, please feel free to make the best decisions for you and/or your family. We will be discussing ways to increase our online connectivity to keep connection and involvement for those who need to miss meeting us in person.
The safety of our athletes, coaches, their families and all our fans is our top priority. It is our hope that we will be able to kick off our regular season play in the first week of April. However, as the circumstances surrounding the corona virus continue to develop, we will remain flexible, and be sure to communicate any additional changes in a timely fashion.
We will also continue to closely monitor city, state and national developments, and seek the guidance of the league, government officials, and medical professionals before engaging in any scheduled events.
