After a few hours delay, FC Minneapolis finally produced its shortlist of some of the returning players confirmed for the 2019 season. This came only days later after the club had announced its ten members’ staff last Sunday, the 2nd of December.
The City Lions shortlist of players include James Brent, the club’s incumbent MVP, and assistant Captain, Leon Brownell Jr., the club’s first captain, and two other assistant captains Cyril Kai and Delkie (Delk) Williams.
Other players include Eric Swen, the budding teenage star of the Pride Stadium, Lorestho Banks, the 20 year old Liberian forward, Jude Woode and Sendi Ian the longest serving player at the club who currently serves as a player manager on the club’s coaching and management staff.
There are potentially other players who may have their agreements renewed for 2019 season but the technical staff believes there will be quite a few extra issues to iron out before any further arrangements can be made.
This year FC Minneapolis launched an International players program which will also contribute extra talent resources to the City Lions’ camp come spring 2019.
The club is also doing local scouting to further strengthen themselves for the upcoming United Premier Soccer League campaign.
