FC Minneapolis is actively seeking skilled and passionate Head Coaches to lead our Nexts Teams, including the UPSL First Division, UPSL Second Division, and UPSL U17 Academy. Position Overview:
As a Nexts Head Coach, you will oversee one of these teams throughout the season, collaborating closely with the Premier Team Head Coach. The role includes pre-season preparation (March-April: 2 on-field sessions per week) and regular season responsibilities (May-July: up to 3 on-field sessions per week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead coaching staff and players for your designated Nexts team.
- Partner with the Premier Head Coach to design and implement training schedules and game plans.
- Build team rosters alongside fellow coaches.
- Develop strategies aligned with FC Minneapolis’ game model and principles.
- Participate in recruitment and player identification events.
- Attend staff meetings (mostly virtual).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coaching Licenses:
- USSF B License or UEFA equivalent (preferred).
- USSF C License or equivalent.
- USSF D License or equivalent (required).
- Proven experience coaching at a competitive level.
- Strong understanding of modern playing techniques and tactical knowledge.
- Ability to effectively communicate and simplify concepts for young athletes.
- Commitment to continuous professional development in coaching.
