After a week of treatment, Ian Sendi walked back on the green to join his side as they made final preparations for their crucial away campaign with Minnesota Cranes tomorrow in Maplewood.
The Ugandan suffered a hamstring injury last Friday during a personal training at Alabama Park.
Speaking to him today, he mentioned that his fitness levels are not yet to the brim but he expressed his excitement for being able to play alongside his teammates tomorrow in a game that he thinks will determine the ending of the league.
“We have to show up strong tomorrow at least for our team and fans.” Ian Sendi said in a phone interview today evening while at his residence in Plymouth.
He also added that the sudden return of the Liberian striker Darius Sango to the team squad is nothing short of a weekend gift.
“Darius is a strong forward and you somehow need his foot on the field. On a good day it directs the ball in the back of the net so I am glad he’s with
us.” Sendi said.
FC Minneapolis travels to Maplewood this Saturday with a shallow squad dew to numerous injuries among the players.
The club tomorrow will play without their Assistant Captain Eliseo Hernandez who has been suffering from a bacterial infection. Victor Adewale has also been unwell and will be rested as well.
Other players missing tomorrow include, Marvin Nieto, Gregoria Mendez, Minesh Sivaperumal, Zerihun Abebe, Samuel Otieno, Raul Sanchez, Emmanuel Doe, and Andy Martinez.
