The Gambian full-back announced yesterday that he was retiring from competitive football following four seasons of success with the City Lions.
Demba Jameh who joined FC Minneapolis in the fall of 2019, was the third captain of the club throughout the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
The 34-year-old was part of the playing squad that reached the 2019 finals and the 2020 semifinals of the Fall Cup.
In 2021, he was part of the FC Minneapolis squad that won the US National Cup at the Regional level and that made it to the United Premier Soccer League division semifinals of the same year.
In 2022 the Gambian fullback was also part of the City Lions playing squad that made it to the UPSL division semi-finals and that won the Minnesota Fall Cup of the same year.
“Demba has been a rock in our defense. It will be hard to find a player of his commitment, discipline, and ability. We wish him a great retirement and a fruitful life outside football.” Said David Oluwalaanu.
The City Lions’ head coach also told our media that Demba will always be welcome at FC Minneapolis in any capacity that he sees fit.
