The City Lions will finish their summer season this weekend with a friendly match away at the University of Minnesota’s home turf in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This will be the very first time FC Minneapolis will meet the University’s Men’s soccer team and everyone on both sides has been looking forward to the game.
The club though is likely not to have some of its key players like Leon T Brownell Jr who broke his left arm two weeks ago in a practice game at Zanewood but the 22-year-old Liberian midfielder is expected to make a full recovery in the coming four weeks and he should be ready for the 2019 spring season.
FC Minneapolis will use it’s typical 4:3:3 system and will try to hold onto the ball as much as possible with just a few changes in the Middlefield, the defensive line and the attacking three.
Speaking to our media, James Brent, the club’s leading goal scorer, and middle fielder said that, “We’re working very hard to get the win. We have what it takes to win on Sunday and I know that we’re going to play with everything we got.”
The 19-year-old Liberian since transforming from the left forward position to central attacking mid has brought a new level of energy and style to the team’s midfield and his coach believes this Sunday will be just another continuation of his usual grandiose spectacles.
